As most of you already know, I have started a food blog. I am super excited about it because 1) I LOVE to cook! 2) I have very stong beliefs that sitting down as a family for supper is one of the most effective ways to stay close as a family and on top of what your kids are up to 3) Cooking for my family makes me proud. It is one way I show my family I love them and care about them. But I also know how cooking dinner every night gets boring and repetitive when you are making the same things over and over again. So I want to help make it more exciting for you by giving you all some different ideas. As many of you know I LOVE to cook. I LOVE to try new differnt recipes. I love to creat wierd thing and have them turn out DELICIOUS!

Well this Friday I will be a Guest Chef on our local KUTV Channel 2's new daytime segmant Fresh Living... and yes I am SCARED TO DEATH and am now wondering what I got myself into. I keep wondering if I should just call them and tell them I'm not coming, end of story. But I won't! I won't let the fear and shakes take control of me... I WILL DO THIS!

My dad built this swing for the grandkids. He's the best! When I was little we had one just like it, I have a lot of great memories of it. I was a lot more excited about it than my kids were while he was making it. But now they love it just like I did.

Jed and I took the trailer and headed up to the Green River near Kemmer, WY. A bunch of guys from a job he was working on went up there to roast a pig, camp, and fish for a weekend so we left the kiddos and hit the road. On the way there we ran out of fuel! It was great!

We visited the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point right before school started with my sister and her girls.

And the Splash Pad in Highland with Calie, Sunny, Peggy and Brennan and the kiddos of course.

This is a Lehi City Firefighter party... The Firefighters spray foam out of their hoses for the kids to play in. There are two different areas on for the big kids and one for the little kids. I was with the Steele and Ryklee and Jed was with Kylie and Remie so I don't have any pictures of Ky and Rem playing.

DaxTirell Dean was born June 30th instead of July 13th because I was itchy... literally! I still don't quite understand it but my Gal bladder wasn't functioning properly which made my liver not function properly which made be so unbelievably itchy I was about to check myself into a the mental ward. And trust me I tried all the creams, allergy meds, and bath concoctions I could find. Come to find out they weren't working because I was itchy from the inside out. When my awesome doctor got the results of my blood tests back he scheduled a C-Section the next day because it was putting us at risk for a still birth. So Wednesday June 30th at 8:22 AM DaxTirell was born weighing in at a whopping 6 lbs. 4 oz. and and 19 inches long.

...And the itching got worse from the Spinal Block and then finally went away completely that night. Though I did have scratches and scabs all over my head and chest. But look was a handsome little fart he is!

This is Honkey & "46" they are Mustangs that we adopted this spring. Steele named the little guy "46" after his favoite number on his tape measure. REALLY. My dad came up with Honkey because he really likes to snort or honk his nose at you. He is BEAUTIFUL!

Well, I haven't been too good at this blog stuff at all but I decided I might catch it up a little...

We've had quite the winter around here.

Thanksgiving morning we found out that we are pregnant. Our due date is July 19.

Jed was laid off just before Christmas and has been busy building me beautiful furniture. A bed and matching night stands (LOVE THEM) and a kitchen table. He has also remodled our spare bedroom into quite the room for Kylie... it is amazing! The baby will take her old room. He won a $5,000 gift card to South Valley Motor Sports at his Granite Company Holiday Party and bought the kids new bikes. Kylie got a TTR125 Yamaha Motorcycle that she is slowly but surely beggining to love. And Steele got a Raptor 50 fourwheeler he is quite the stud on.

Jed turned 33 this Janruary and he and I went up to Midway and stayed the night at the Zermatt Resort. It was a lot of fun to get away and enjoy each others company.

Our cousin Tyrel died of complications with a seziure very unexpectedly about two weeks later on a Sunday afternoon. We miss him dearly and think about him often. He was quite the kid! There are SO many things that will never be the same without him... Since he has been gone I can't count the times Jed has said and I have thought, "Wish Tyrel were here, he'd hit that jump!" or "This would be so much more fun with Tyrel". We love you man and can't wait to see you again!

Jed's Uncle Woofy (Kent) and family stayed with us while they were here for the services and then he came back up about two weeks later to pick up a snow cat. It was a lot of fun to have him here and spend time with him. He and Jed are (((SO))) much a like it's not even funny. We had a good time with him, Aunt Trudy, Uncle Steven, my dad, and one of Trudy's cousins out in the snow cat one night.

I also had Area & State Special Olympics Volleyball games during this crazy time. At area the team that I coach took home the Gold Medal and at State we took home the Bronze! Way to go guys, and thanks for making me smile!

February we had the Ultrasound that told us we are having another bouncing BOY, Yippe!

March has just begun and things are begging to look up... Jed is back to work!!!

My parents had their TWENTY-EIGHTH anniversary and we also just celebrated my mom's birthday.

MY BIG BIG BOY

Okay, so Steele is pretty much potty trained YEAH! And, he has started to only want to pee standing up and he asks me quite often if he can poop standing up to but of course I tell him "no we only poop sitting down". Well he also LOVES to pee outside (thanks to Jed!) preferably right in the middle of the grass out in the open. But hey, how can I say no? He is not peeing in a diaper or in his pants so I am happy for now ( it's kinda cute too!) It must be an Elton thing or something cause his 6 year old cousin still pees outside right in the open too, even off of the front pourch :-)

So today, Steele wanted to go outside and play. I let him out back with the door cracked so I could hear him. Next thing I hear is "MOOOOMMMMM" "MOOOMMMMMMM" so I step onto the deck to find my little man with his jeans and undies down to his ankles and his little shirt pulled up (I wish I would have thought to grab the camera then!) He says "Mom I pooped on the lawn". Oh boy it was so funny, I had such a hard time bringing him in to wipe his bum telling him we don't poop on the lawn we only poop on the potty. When we were done wipping we I had to go clean it up and yes I did think of the camera then

Kylie is turning 11! We had her family dinner/party for her.

We told her she had to modle everything she got cause we got her a bunch of riding gear for her motorcycle. She was a good sport and did it!
Jed even helped.

Jed made her this box and also a wooden ring. It is really neat!

And gift cards for iTunes... She loved these! She unloaded them as fast as she could open them :-)

This is her Pellet gun she got. She enjoys going out shooting and we are hoping to get her Hunter Stafety done soon just in case she decides she might want to join in on the hunting.

Kylie is seriously one of the coolest nicest girls I know! She is a great person!

Steele got this little shiner at Granny & Grandpa's on Christmas day, it is his first ever and Jed was SO proud!

Christmas was SO much fun this year, We had Kylie for Christmas Eve and morning and Steele was finnally old enough to really enjoy it.

For Christmas Eve we had our families over for dinner. Jed smoked a Ham, Turkey, & Potatoes... Yum Yum! Huge fan of the potatoes! We had a great time and enjoyed all of the company. We are SO blessed to have such great family!!!

Horseback Riding Lessons

Lessons will be given at the Highland Equestrian Park just North of Costco in Lehi.

My super cool husband made me a pantry today! We have lived in our house for four years now and I have unhappily delt with not having a pantry (and hardly any cupboard space for food) in my kitchen. Well last week I got the brilliant idea to turn our coat closet into a pantry :-) We never really used the coat closet anyway there was just junk in it. So today Jed built me my SWEET pantry so I had to blog about it! I sure wish we would have done this four years ago! THANKS BABE!!!

Easter

This year we went camping for Easter with Granny & Grandpa out to "Little Moab" or "Nutty Putty". We had a great time with them and Chris, Cori, Braxton, & Kayson Perry. Kylie was able to ride her motorcycle as much as she wanted and she even had Braxton to ride with. Steele got to show his skills off on his little fourwheeler. He surprised everyone at how good he is at it.

The Easter Bunny actually found us out there too! He hid the eggs that the kids colored and he also hid their baskets.

Just a little update on our lives...
Kylie is doing great. She is taking dance and seems to be enjoying it. She does get embarrassed because it is at the Lehi Legacy Center (rec center) and there are always a lot of kids that she goes to school with there... and they might see her dancing... Aaahhh!
Steele is really enjoying his cousins lately and absolutely LOVES his BamPa's! Sorry Grandma's but you know it is the truth! He has been talking really clearly and will pretty much say anything... even the words that I don't want him to say but Jed is teaching him. He can also climb out of his crib but has learned that we don't do that and has stopped.
Jed is working nights at Walmart. He is their overnight Asset Protection. He is doing really well at it. He has made several stops and tons of deterrence's. He is really enjoying it. He keeps telling me how different it is working for a big corporation like this. Their rules are hard for him to understand... he doesn't like having to take a 15 min. break or even a lunch. He feels like they pretty much won't let him work as hard as he wants to. Now if we can just get some more work for my parents.
I am absolutely loving my job at the high school! The kids in my class make me excited to go to work everyday. They are AMAZING! It is so much fun!

I Figured It Out!

I figured it out finally. It took a good melt down and then it all seemed to come together. Thanks for every one's help and concern and compassion! I never really thought I would be so emotional and dramatic when it came down to sending him to a sitter.
I talked to a sitter and planned on taking him to her the next morning and I felt pretty good about her because Calie and Peggy know her really well but when I got off of the phone with her and thought about it for about 30 sec. I started balling, there was no way I could take him! So... I ended up taking him up to Peggy and Calie. Thanks guys! You have no idea how much I appreciate how you are always there for me!

I have such a big problem and I have been avoiding it in a big way!

I don't really know anyone that does child care... so how do I decide what stranger I should trust to leave my incredibly loved, cute, mischievous son with for six hours while I go to work everyday? How do I know if this stranger is actually paying any attention to him while he is there? How do I know how he will be treated?
I know, I know... people do this everyday. They leave their most precious babies with strangers.

Okay seriously! I really need help! Does anyone know any AMAZING, PATIENT, CLEAN, RESPECTABLE, LOVING... ETC.... ETC.... ETC.... person out there that would love to have my baby in their home for about six hours of the day that might live somewhere close to the Lehi area?

Special Olymics

We did great at Special Olympics Volleyball this last Friday!

Lehi had 5 teams total! Two from the High School and three City Teams. I coach one of the school teams and Jed is actually a Unified Partner (non-disabled teammate) on one of the city teams.

We have had so much fun participating in this! We practice every Tuesday night and the whole family goes. Kylie enjoys meeting all of the amazing kids and being able to play Volleyball with them. Jed has made SO many friends but there are a set of brothers that just LOVE him and he can't get enough of them. They wrestle and talk about girls with any spare time we have there. And Steele just enjoys running around the Gym like a crazy man playing with all the balls.

This past Friday was our Area Games...

My team got a Silver Medal placing 2nd in our bracket.

Jed's team got a ribbon placing 4th in their bracket.

And the three other teams got Gold, Bronze, and I think another Bronze.

It was SO much fun! And quite intense at times!

I have GREAT pictures but I can't post them online... I don't think all of these kid's parents would love that... So when you see me ask me to see them... You will absolutely love them!

Steele Cut His Foot Bad!

My poor little guy cut his little toes tonight BAD! I felt so bad for him. Jed Doctored him up though. We didn't have any athletic tape so of course Duct Tape worked just great! There was so much blood dripping from his foot... poor little thing :-(
He was seriously SO tuff! He really hardly ever cries when he gets hurt but tonight he really surprised me. He just whined a bit when Jed was touching his toe other than that he was just saying "Steeley Bob Steeley Bob Steeley Bob" That's what Uncle Rhett calls him and he has been saying it all day.

Okay... So I don't get why my pictures show up in a backwards order than what I want them to!

This is @ the end of the night Jed made himself a Sumo diaper. Then he and Kylon went out front and did snow angels in the icee snow. Kylon had clothes on but Jed got scraches all of his chest and cuts on the top of his feet. He's pretty smart sometimes!

We had a lot of fun playing a murder mysery Saturday night it was themed in 1950. My parents played too. I was just sitting right next to them so I couldn't get any good pictures.

After the game we had bananna splits then played the Guitar Hero and Mario Cart.

Our holidays were great!

We had a lot of fun with all of our family. On Christmas Eve we had all of the Elton's and my parents over for dinner a games. We had such a good time!

Christmas Day my parents came over to watch Kylie and Steele open all of their presents and exchange gifts with them. Then we went over to Wes and Peggy's and spent the day and dinner with them.

Today is Kylie's Birthday! She is TEN!I just thought I would tell you all how awesome Kylie is.

I am so grateful to be able to call Kylie my daughter. She is so much fun and so much help.

She is also so much like Jed, sometimes it is actually scary! Kylie has got one heck of a sense of humor. She thinks just about anything is funny. She will just bust up laughing and I wont have a clue what she is laughing at and sometimes I never find out.

Kylie is an amazing sister! Although she LOVES to torment her brother she takes very good care of him as well. This Christmas she held Steele in her lap and took turns opening presents with him to help him stay focused.

She is turning into a beautiful young woman before our eyes!

Wednesday night Kylie and I made brownies and had a hair night again. (This is alwasy my idea!) Kylie made a star on the top of my head. It was pretty cool then I think she was trying to see how may hair elastics she could put in my hair.

Zoie & Santa - Zoie is SO funny! This year on the deer hunt with her grandma and grandpa she saved all of the deer legs and chased her cusins around scaring them. She wanted to take them home with her and someone even showed her that if you pull the tendons the hoof would move. She also wanted her grandma to make her some pants out of the hide... She acts just like Jake when he was younger. ;-)

We had a real fun time at our family Christmas party this year. We started renting "The Lodge @ Clemintine" for our family parties. It makes it nice and roomy. There are two large rooms one with two ovens, a kitchen sink, and a fridge with lots of big tables and one with a ton of HUGE bean bags, some rocking horses, and I think there is a video game system but the bean bags are by far the highlight.

We spent ThanksGiving with my Dad's family this year. It was great! Jed and I made a lot of food. We always smoke a turkey but this year was the first year we made anything else, which made it a little stressful but a lot of fun. We really enjoy cooking for other people. My dad helping Steele eat his feast. Steele has gotten very independent in the last few weeks especially with eating.

These are a few Pics of me from High School.

1. Did you marry someone from high school?
No. I married the man that I litterally drempt about since elementary school. In high school I always wondered why all of my dreams were about Jed instead of my boyfriends at the time... Who would have guessed I was going to marry him? SURELY NOT ME!

2. Did you car pool to school?

Let's see... My Sophmore year I rode the bus to school then my boyfriend would give me a ride home. My Junior and Senior year I drove myself alone except I would carpool to my Vet class at UVSC with Jason, Heidi, Amanda, and Kapree.

3. What kind of car did you have?

When I turned sixteen I got my Ford Ranger. I LOVED THAT TRUCK! Then the last part of my Senior year my parents gave me my Power Stroke. (I know I was spoiled but I wasn't spoiled rotten!)

4. What kind of car do you have now?

I have a Mitsibishi Galant

At a Rodeo most of the time or a Football game or driving around trying to find SOMETHING to do... I don't really ever think we found anything to do, but it sure was fun.

At home with people over playing Poker or some kind of game or just falling asleep while watching TV.

I am a Wife, a Mom, and a Secretary... It is great because I can take Steele with me to work and I decide my own hours.

I definetly knew how to have fun. I just wish I would have experienced a few more crazy times. I was always too worried I would disapoint my parents.

I don't think so.

Nope, I Rodeoed and I was a big time FFA chick.

HELL NO! Did I metion I was affraid of disapointing my parents? Plus I like High School way too much!

I could sing most of it if I had music to sing to.

Hands down Doug Webb. I learned more from him and his classes than I probably learned throughout High School.

14. Where did you sit during lunch?

I never once stayed at the school for lunch I either went to Harts, Windy's, McDonalds, or KFC... (super healthy food!)

17. If you could go back and do it again, would you?

For sure! Like I said I LOVED high school. I think the only thing I would change would be my long relationships that I had. I really wish I would have dated a bunch of different guys instead just a few.

I really don't remeber a whole lot it was a bittersweet feeling. I do remeber how awesome I thought it was that Jed made sure he was there. He and my dad were working in Arizona at the time and it was kind of a pain in the butt for them to both be gone from work for the last part of the week.

19. Who did you go to prom with Sr. year?

I didn't go... Jed thought he was a little to old to be going to prom.

21. Do you still talk to the person you went to Prom with?

Of course I talk to the person I spent Prom night with... Jed.

23. Do you still talk to people from school? Ya, I do talk to a few. I have even become friends with people that I wasn't friends with in school.

For those of you who don't know... Steele goes to work with me to my mom and dad's house everyday. My mom has bought him SO many different toys to try to keep him entertained but they all have failed (she even bought him a Little Tike's slide with a ladder and basketball hoop and balls that sits in her living room). So yesterday she wasn't there and he was wanting to sit in his booster and eat so I took him to the pantry and let him choose what he wanted. He chose a Pudding Snack Pack... so I gave him a spoon took his shirt off and set his booster in the middle of the kitchen floor and let him go to town. Let me just tell you, that pudding was the best entertainment next to Kylie. He sat there and "ate" it for almost an hour!!!

Okay... so all of you that know me knows that I really hate doing my hair. I don't know why I hate it so bad but I just don't have any ambition to do it every morning. I get in the shower telling myself that I am going to get out, get dressed, and DO MY HAIR. But when it comes down to it, I just don't. I can find much more productive things to do with my time. So I ask myself... will I ever get the ambition to do my hair and look like a put together nice looking mom and wife, or will I always just not care?

Witches Night Out

This year us Elton Girls went to Witches Night Out at Gardener Village. We had a ton of fun! It was a lot of fun getting all dressed up and going out with the girls. After we left Gardener Village we went to Market Street Grill and ate some delisious food. Of course we had a lot of fun there. We had a waiter that kept saying some interesting things like "I am a big Halloweener" so of course we took it quite a bit farther than that when he wasn't there. Then we ended up at Walmart... We spent the rest of the night there trying to find the perfect pair of bloomers to go over our black leggings so when we bent over in our Too Toos everyone could see them. It was a great night!

Jed's deer this year really was physically retarded. For some unknown reason it had been casturated... Therefore, the horns were still in velvet and were soft plus they were very deformed. It looks like a spike but if you look closely you can see a bunch of weird little nubbers. It was kinda freeky looking!

Wow! I really can't believe how time flys. You hear over and over how fast time flys and how kids grow up before your eyes, and you think you know what people are talking about. But until you have your own kids you really don't understand how true all of that is... At least I sure didn't. Steele is such an amazing little man. He has been such a good baby! He started sleeping all of the way through the night just before he was three months old. Now he mimics everything Jed does and says. I'm sure I don't need to tell anyone this isn't always a good thing, althouh it is always hard not to laugh. For example: Jed has got Steele saying "Re-re-re-re-taaaard-ooo (if you understand that) anytime he points in my direction.

Steele also loves to kiss! He gets his lips stuck out as far as he possibly can to kiss. And there has been a few times that he has wanted to kiss Katie so she puts her cheek to him and he turns her head to kiss her lips. He does the funniest things and when you laugh at him he will repeat it over and over again.

Steele likes his sister Kylie more than anyone! He loves to play with her even though she teases him like crazy. Kylie is such a huge help! She loves to get him dressed! She will even change a poopy diaper if she is dressing him. She is also always more than happy to take him outside and play with him. They both love the Power Wheeles 4-wheeler that my mom & dad gave him for his birthday. They also go on walks all of the time. They are great together and some days I don't know how I would get anything done if it wern't for her.

Kylie, Steele, and I spent a weekend in Island Park with all of Jed's family. Jed went on the annual "Guys River Trip" with my dad. We had so much fun even though we were missing him. Dagan and Whit brought their boat up and we stayed in Sunny's brother's cabin right on the lake. We had a mud fight, played on the water and dock, played cards, and even went poop sacking (imagine that). It is always a great and interesting time with all of them.
